     Subspecies and Distribution

• Monotypic. (Raffles, TS 1822, Benkulen, western Sumatra)
  – Lowlands from S Myanmar E to Philippines and S to Greater Sundas; spottily elsewhere through Lesser Sundas and Moluccas, and recently found breeding in W Timor.
