Ochraceous Bulbul Alophoixus ochraceus is split into :

- Ochraceous Bulbul (Alophoixus ochraceus)
- Penan Bulbul (Alophoixus ruficrissus)
Penan Bulbul of Borneo is split from Ochraceous Bulbul which occurs
throughout the remainder of the range in SE Asia.

Size : 19–22 cm; 35·1–45·4 g (sordidus), 36·7–54 g (sacculatus)

Alophoixus ochraceus ochraceus (F. Moore, 1854, Tenasserim; type locality restricted to Mergui Town [12°26'N, 98° 36'E], by Deignan 1956)
– SW Thailand and S Myanmar (Tenasserim S of Ye).
Alophoixus ochraceus sacculatus (Robinson, 1915, Ginting Bidei [lat. 3° 18' N., long. 101° 50' E.], Selangor, Malaya)
– S Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore.
Alophoixus ochraceus sordidus (Richmond, 1900, Khao Soi Dao [lat. 7° 20' N., long. 99° 50' E.], Thailand)
– S Thailand and C Peninsular Malaysia.
Alophoixus ochraceus cambodianus (Delacour & Jabouille, 1928, Le Boc Kor [10°37'N, 104° 03' E], Cambodia)
– SE Thailand and SW Cambodia.
Alophoixus ochraceus hallae (Deignan, 1956, Tay Ninh [lat. 11° 18' N., long. 106° 0r E.], Cochin China)
– S Vietnam (S Annam, N Cochinchina) and adjacent NE Cambodia.
Alophoixus ochraceus sumatranus (Wardlaw-Ramsay, 1882, Mount Sago [ca. 70 miles northeast of Padang, which lies at lat. 0° 58' S., long. 100° 21' E.], Sumatra)
– W Sumatra.
