Hill Blue Flycatcher Cyornis banyumas is split into :

- Hill Blue Flycatcher (Cyornis whitei)

- Javan Blue Flycatcher (Cyornis banyumas)
- Dayak Blue Flycatcher (Cyornis montanus)

With this split, Javan Blue Flycatcher becomes a critically endangered
species given its rare and declining population on Java.

• Cyornis whitei whitei (Harington, HH 1908)
  – N and E Myanmar, SC China (S Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, W Guangxi), N Thailand, N and C Laos and N Vietnam (W Tonkin, N Annam), probably also extreme NE India (NE Arunachal Pradesh); non-breeding also NE India and W and C Myanmar.
• Cyornis whitei lekhakuni (Deignan, HG 1956)
  – hills of S Thailand.
• Cyornis whitei deignani (Meyer de Schauensee, R 1939)
  – SE Thailand.
• Cyornis whitei coerulifrons (Baker, ECS 1918)
  – S Thailand and N and C Peninsular Malaysia.
