Pale-faced Bulbul (Pycnonotus leucops) is split from Flavescent Bulbul (Pycnonotus flavescens). Yet again, the plumage differences of the
Borneo subspecies prove significant and indicate Pale-faced Bulbul is
its own new species.

Subspecies and Distribution
- Monotypic. (Sharpe, RB 1888, Mt Kinabalu, 7000–8000 feet [c. 2130–2440m], Borneo)– N Borneo (Mt. Kinabalu to Mt. Mulu and Mt. Murud).
