  – W Himalayas to Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Assam (Mishmi Hills).
• Garrulax leucolophus patkaicus (Reichenow, A 1913)
  – S Assam (s of the Brahmaputra) to n Myanmar and nw Yunnan.
• Garrulax leucolophus belangeri (Lesson, RP 1831)
  – S Myanmar and sw Thailand (valley of Mekong River).
• Garrulax leucolophus diardi (Lesson, RP 1831)
  – SE Myanmar to sw Yunnan, peninsular Thailand and Indochina.
