  – S Laos (Bolavens Plateau) and sw Cambodia.
• Phylloscopus castaniceps youngi (Robinson, 1915)
  – Mountains of peninsular Thailand (south of Isthmus of Kra).
• Phylloscopus castaniceps annamensis (Robinson & Kloss, 1919)
  – Mountains of Vietnam (Langbian and Da Lat plateaux).
• Phylloscopus castaniceps butleri (Hartert, E, 1898)
  – Mountains of Malay Peninsula.
