  • Clamator jacobinus pica (Hemprich & Ehrenberg, 1833, Ambukohl, Dongola)
    – sub-Saharan Africa S to Tanzania and Zambia, and NW India to Nepal and Myanmar, occasionally S Tibet, in foothills of Mt Everest.
  • Clamator jacobinus serratus (Sparrman, 1786, Cape of Good Hope, i.e. Cape Peninsula, Cape Province, South Africa 1)
    – S Africa (S from S Zambia).
  • Clamator jacobinus jacobinus (Boddaert, 1783, Coromandel Coast, ex Daubenton, PL enlum., pi. 872)
    – S India and Sri Lanka; partially migrant to SE Africa.
