Subspecies and Distribution
- Monotypic. (Middendorff, 1853, Stanovoy Mountains, Russia)– Disjunct populations from forest zone of SW Siberia to S tundra of Koryak Mts and NE Kamchatka; also Commander Is and N Kuril Is. Winters from E India, Sri Lanka and Indochina to Taiwan, and S through Philippines and Indonesia to W & SE Australia.
